My prayer:

We are made for so much more than what we are experiencing right now God. I can feel it in my bones. We are made to do greater things that we are doing. We are made to receive greater blessings than we are receiving. 

You said, greater things than these you shall do, and you were talking about your ministry here on earth when you said that! 

When are we going to figure out how to have what you have already given us? When am I going to stop finding ways to avoid what you have for me? 

You are so wonderful and I just want to start living the life that I can have because of who you are and what you have given me. Love you SO MUCH!

What God Said Tonight:

I have given you all that you will ever need. What you do with it is your choice. You can ignore it, you can cherish it. You can leave it to pile up in a corner and rot or you can take it out and use it. 

My gifts are good and they are already yours. You have to choose to pick them each up, try them out, and discover the application for each. 

I love you and I will have you sitting at my right hand in glory with your savior and my son. Go and see me work in your life, even yet today.

Purpose vs. gifts...

My prayer:

Awesome God. What a mixed bag today was! All day was massive frustration and then spent the evening right in my purpose and LOVING every minute of it! Sure would be wonderful to be in my purpose all of the time, doing the things that you built me to do. 

Is that possible? Is that kind of life possible? Or will there always be some level of annoying drudgery? I would love to believe that somehow, someday, I could have a life of purpose, all the time...

What God Said Tonight:

Your life of purpose is not just in what you do, it is who you are. Whatever you are doing, your purpose, your spirit, your experience of me in you can shine through. If you approach the drudgery with my spirit, it can become an opportunity to help and bless people around you. 

Your purpose is not just in the things you do well. Your purpose is in living your life with me shining through you. That comes through in EVERYTHING you do.  

Now, do you want and will you get more opportunities to engage in those things that I created you uniquely to do, absolutely. We have a lot of good times ahead where you get to shine. But don't get your gifts confused with your purpose. 

Your purpose is straightforward, share me in everything you do and everything that you are. Your gifts are the tools I have given you to accomplish great things in life. Your gifts are what you have to give away and bless others. I love you.

Other people's opinions...

My prayer:

God you are GOOD!!! As I reflect on today, I realize that all of us, even the most impressive seeming people, at our core are often insecure and desperately want someone to tell us we are good or doing good. 

I love watching someone begin to glow under genuine compliments. I know it shouldn't matter so much to us. What other people think of us really shouldn't matter. But truth is, it matters more than I want to admit. 

God help me to remember to let people around me know how wonderful they are. We all need to hear it more often I think.

What God Said Tonight:

I am a relationship. You were built to be in relationship. That is why other people's opinions of you matter so much. Should you base your self worth on their opinions? Absolutely not. Your worth comes from me. You are the child of the most high God, a Royal Priesthood. You start there. Then, as you relate to those around you, as you build the relationships with those around you, you build them up and they build you up and together you build something new and great. 

Start with the foundational knowledge that you are already phenomenal. From there you can confidently lift up those around you. I love you.

Wonderful Father. I have a million thoughts running through my head tonight but I don't know if any of them are worth talking about. You know about all of the urgent needs going on right now, we have talked about them. You know about the challenges. You know about the celebrations. You know about the random unconnected thoughts. You know that I love you. Let's face it, we call you the all knowing God for a reason! :) 

Love you like crazy God. Since there is SO MUCH that I DON'T know, maybe I should listen instead of talk.

Get ready to soar. We are about to take off on a trip that you have not seen or imagined before. We are going to fly. We are going to see the world, the issues, the future from a new perspective. I am going to show you the upper atmosphere view. I am going to show you the things that matter to the big picture. I am going to help you to see the noise from the truth. I will fly you into your future. Ready?

God I need more of you. I need your help. I need your guidance. I need you to help me do what you have taught me to do and not what I feel like doing. I need to love better. I need to be confident in who I am in you and who you are in me. I need a lot of things that I can't do for myself. I need you God, now more than ever.

What God Said Tonight:

I am here. Now and always I am here. I am whatever you need whenever you need it. I cannot leave you unless you tell me to go. 

I love you so much and every good thing I have is yours. I will help you. I will guide you. I will be there for you when you get it right and when you get it wrong. I love you, not what you do. You will make mistakes. You will do things that you wish you hadn't done. You will. But, I will always be there for you when you do. I will always have a way out. 

I will provide for you every day for the rest of eternity. I will never let you hit the ground. You may fall, but I will catch you. I am yours and you are mine and that is forever.

Another thing I REALLY LOVE about you God is your patience with me. 

I find it amazing that you never get tired of giving me another chance. You never run out of second chances. 

I get impatient with myself, others, life, all the time. But you seem to always be ready to gather me up in your arms, kiss my head and say, "try again sweetheart." Thank you for your patience God.

What God Said Tonight:

Patience is easy when I know the end from the beginning. 

I know you are going to get there. I know already that you are going to figure it out. I know that in the end, you learn. I have already seen it. So, if it takes once, twice or four hundred times, it makes no difference to me. I am focused on the last time, the time that you do get it and understand. I am focused on what we can do and where we can go then. I don't sweat the 399 practice runs. 

I love you daughter. I will never lose patience with you. I am in this with you now and forever.

My prayer:

Show me something new tonight God. Show me a new aspect of you. I want to know all of you that I can. I know that I have only begun to know you. Tell me something I don't know yet.

What God Said Tonight:

I have many new things for you. I am infinite and therefor I will never run out of new things for you. Who I am never changes but your ability to know me is always changing. I am only limited by your willingness to know me. 

If you will let me, I will show you all of me. You many not be able to comprehend it all but you will know that you have seen it. You will know that it is there. Then, we can spend the rest of eternity together while you come to understand it. 

Truth is, you never completely know anyone, not even yourself, so you may never know all of me. But, I will always be willing to share me with you. I will always give you all of me that you want. I love you and I love being in your life. 

We see things from a different perspective. It does not mean that one vision is more right than the other but it is different. When I look at life, I see it in context of eternity. When you look at life, it is hard for you to see beyond the moment. You imagine a future and you remember a past but you can only experience now. I can experience all, past, present and future at the same time. 

It is why waiting and timing can be such an issue for you. If you experienced time like I do, you would never worry about timing again. And the great thing is, because of our relationship, because I am in you and you in me, you can experience time through my eyes. Give it a try.
